Back to Work!
I went back to work this week. I've done a lot better than I thought I would but by the third day (I'm working 3 days a week), I was starting to really have trouble. I just "spoke" to him on the phone and he sounded so sweet. I do know that this will be good for me to be out and about. It's definitely good for him to be with Tina as she is really stimulating him. They sing, play, read, etc.. all day long. He's very happy and calm when I get home. The only bad thing is that I don't get to see him for very long because he wants to go to sleep by about 6:30 or 7pm. But we're hanging in there. Wish us luck!

Mommy's Big Boy!

Curran is getting so big as evidenced by these photos. He is cooing and laughing and getting more of his own personality. He has outgrown a lot of the clothes he was wearing, but don't worry, there's plenty more where they came from. I have a good time dressing him up. That's all for now- gotta feed the baby!

Almost 12 weeks!!
We're coming up on the 12 week mark and he is changing every day. He discovered his hands about a week ago and now sucks on his fist to soothe himself. He is sleeping longer and longer at night. He's been laughing a little and smiling but today he actually laughed at something I was doing!! I can't descibe how I felt when he did that. It was like he discovered the cure for cancer or something!
He is a great dharma teacher as well. I have learned the importance of mindfulness because I could miss something important if I'm not mindful with a baby. I am also learning about impermanence because he is a different Curran every day (and I'm a different Mommy every day-hopefully better!). Our only issue is that he still prefers the right side even though he is able to turn his head to the left and seems fine with hearing and sight on that side. We just have to keep working with him and orienting him to that side.
Oh what a wonderful adventure this is!! I have to go back to work week after next and I'm not feeling so good about it. I have anxiety about leaving him- not that he won't be okay but that I won't be okay. Send good thoughts my way that I will get through it.
I had professional pictures made of him last week and he did NOT cooperate. But he's still a little young. We'll try it again soon.
Stay tuned!

Dancing baby!

Curran received a new playmat from my friend Dawn today. It's the Baby Einstein water gym and it's so cute. When I put him on it and turned on the music, I swear it looked like he was bobbing his head to the music. I don't know if I've posted this yet or not, but my nickname for him is Budgie because he bobs his head like my parakeets used to. He's such a sweet and snuggly baby. I love being his mom.

Brave Baby!
Last Thursday, Curran had 4 vaccinations (DTaP, Hib, Pneumococcus, and Polio). He was so brave. He cried for a few seconds and then I picked him up and he was calm. He is such a good brave baby!!
Curran at almost 10 weeks!
Today Curran did the cutest thing. I started singing Patty Cake to him and he smiled and laughed!! So I kept singing and he kept laughing. Then we did Old McDonald and he liked it until I did a goose. He didn't like the honk. He's such a cute sweet baby. I'm so blessed to be his mommy.
These are some recent pics in his bear outfit. One of the last cold days he would be able to wear it.
